Continuing
Care Home
Type B

Crafted by Alberta Health Services and formerly known as Designated Supportive Living, this is for those needing funded hands-on daily assistance.

What is Continuing Care Home Type B?

Continuing Care Home Type B offers funded assistance through Alberta Health Services for individuals who require assistance with daily activities but do not require the level of care provided by a long-term care residence. It supports independence and privacy, with health and personal care services available on-site as needed.

Our residences offer licensed supportive living with convenient services such as 24-hour emergency response, three daily meals, weekly housekeeping, and medication management. Independent Living residents may also access supportive services, including scheduled care, depending on the residence. Home and Community Care provided by Alberta Health Services is available in all locations.

Benefits

Care services are coordinated by Alberta Health Services following an assessment by a Case Manager.
Accommodation, meals, housekeeping, linens, and recreational programming are included. Personal care support is provided based on an individual care plan, with both scheduled and unscheduled assistance available. When required, professional care such as nursing or rehabilitation therapy is arranged and delivered by qualified care providers.

Short Term &
Respite Care

Want a trial stay to see whether a retirement home is right without any pressure to make a long-term decision? Or a respite when looking for a comfortable place to stay and receive support temporarily.

What is the difference between short-term and respite care?

Short-term and respite care offer a relaxed way to experience retirement living in a warm, supportive setting, without any pressure to make a long-term commitment. Stays can range from a few weeks to a few months, depending on your needs.
Short-term care, sometimes called a trial stay, is a great option if you’d like to see what daily life in our community is like, need a comfortable place to stay during home renovations, or want to be close to a loved one who already lives with us.
Respite care provides a welcoming place to stay with added support when a caregiver needs time away, or when you or your loved one could use extra assistance following an illness or surgery.
Both options are temporary, and whatever brings you to us, we’re here to help make your stay comfortable and supported
